Rajiv Jain

Partner, Chairman & Chief Investment Officer, GQG Partners

Rajiv is the Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of GQG Partners and also serves as the lead portfolio manager for all GQG Partners strategies. He commenced investment operations at GQG Partners in June 2016 and has over 25 years of investment experience. Previously, Rajiv served as a Co-Chief Executive Officer (from July 2014) and Chief Investment Officer and Head of Equities (from February 2002) at Vontobel Asset Management. He was the sole portfolio manager of the International Equities strategy (since 2002) and Emerging Markets Equities strategy (since 1997), and the lead portfolio manager for the Global Equities strategy (since 2002). Rajiv helped build the business from less than US$400 million under management to just under US$50 billion in 2016. He joined Vontobel Asset Management as a co-portfolio manager of Emerging Markets Equities and International Equities in November 1994. Prior to that, he was an International Equity Analyst at Swiss Bank Corporation. Rajiv earned an MBA in Finance and International Business from the University of Miami. He also has a master’s degree from the University of Ajmer and an undergraduate degree in accounting with honors.

Nick Nash

Co-Founder & Managing Partner, Asia Partners

Prior to Asia Partners, Mr. Nash was the Group President of Sea, Greater Southeast Asia’s leading internet company with a ~17Bn market cap, from 2014 to 2018. Mr. Nash led Sea’s landmark initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: SE), which raised approximately $1 billion of primary capital and which was the largest ever U.S. IPO of a company from Southeast Asia.

Mr. Nash joined Sea after more than a decade with General Atlantic (GA), most recently as the co-founder and head of GA’s Southeast Asia business. Three of Mr. Nash’s successful investments while with General Atlantic are now multi-billion dollar NYSE publicly traded companies. Prior to GA, Mr. Nash was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company in New York.

Mr. Nash was a member of the World Economic Forum’s ASEAN Regional Strategy Group from 2017-2018, is a member of the global Kauffman Society for leadership in venture capital, is a member of the Young Presidents Organization, and is a board member of Endeavor Indonesia.

He received an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business in 2007, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University in Chemistry and Physics, magna cum laude, in 2000.

Mattias Ljungman

Founder, Moonfire Ventures

Mattias launched Moonfire Ventures in 2019 after 13 years at Atomico. He founded Atomico in 2006 alongside Niklas Zennström, sourcing investments and building Atomico's team of experts who help portfolio companies to scale globally.

In that time, Mattias has been involved with exits or substantial transactions in companies including Supercell (sold a majority stake to SoftBank over two transactions in 2013 and 2015), 6Wunderkinder (acquired by Microsoft in 2015), The Climate Corporation (acquired by Monsanto for $1.1B in 2013), Xobni (acquired by Yahoo! in 2013) and Power Reviews (acquired by Bazaarvoice in 2012). Mattias works closely with a number of portfolio companies on their expansion, including Truecaller, Klarna, Hailo, and ChemistDirect. He also leads the work of Atomico's experienced global team on the ground in China, Japan, Brazil and Turkey, helping portfolio companies to scale into these major international markets. Before launching Atomico, Mattias was the head of investments at CLS Holdings where he was responsible for the sale of Sit Up TV for $360 million in 2005 and held previous roles working in M&A consultancy at LEK and in fund management at Valu-Trac. Mattias holds a Masters from the Stockholm School of Economics and a B.A. in Geography and Economics with Honors from McGill University.

Gideon Nieuwoudt

Founder & Managing Partner, Southern Right Capital

Gideon is the founder of Southern Right Capital. He serves as an independent advisor on STANLIB Multi-Manager’s Alternative Assets Investment Committee, as a non-executive director of Empiric Managed Capital and as a director of the Accumulus Fund and Acumulus Emerging Managers Fund. In addition, he serves as an independent non-executive director of the board of Remgro, a JSE listed investment holding company. Gideon formerly served as a senior advisor to the AMX, a Willis Towers Watson managed account platform. Previously, he served as the director of Alternative Investment Solutions at Edmond de Rothschild and a partner and portfolio manager at Silver Creek Capital, a US$7 billion alternative investment manager for six years. Before, he was deputy head of the alternative investment research team at Union Bancaire Privée (UBP). He began his investment career at Watson Wyatt (now WillisTowersWatson), where he ended up heading the hedge fund research group during his seven-year tenure. Gideon is a CFA Charterholder and a key individual under FAIS Category I, II and IIA. He also holds several control functions under the FCA for Empiric Capital and GQG Partners.
